The School Library And Its Composition |
The Main School Library is located at Sibweni Rd campus, and is divided into Primary and Secondary sections. | SECONDARY SCHOOL LIBRARY This has three main sections, namely; Non-fiction, Fiction and Reference.  NON- FICTION SECTIONS
It has books which have facts and sometimes known as information materials. The materials under this category talk about people, places and things. Most of the stock in our Library including textbooks belongs to this group. These materials are classified into ten broad subjects using the method called “The Dewey Decimal Classification.” The subject names are coded by numbers recognized world wide. Below is the Dewey Decimal Classification Chart.

| | The Non- fiction has books from Philosophy to History and Geography. The books under these broad subjects have many specific sub-divisions, for example Pure Sciences, there are ten main subdivisions: General Science, Mathematics, physics, chemistry, Biology and Animals. The Subdivisions mentioned are present in our library. REFERENCE SECTION This includes encyclopaedias, dictionaries and atlases. These books are also shelved according to their subjects. We do not lend these books because they are in constant demand. FICTION SECTION These books are also known as story books or novels. The Books are shelved in alphabetical order using the author’s surnames. Pupils borrow these books more than the Non- Fiction books |
PRIMARY SCHOOL LIBRARY
This has also the three sections mentioned in the secondary school library and the organization of books is also similar. Their non-fiction has not got many subdivisions i.e. under Pure Sciences; there is no physics, chemistry and biology.
FICTION SECTION The Fiction is divided into three sections called Easy-to-read, grade 3 and 4 section and 5, 6 and 7 section. |
